Vaccination target reached - Salamander pays bonus

Press release

Health, and thus also the protection of employees from Corona, continues to be Salamander's top priority. A specially set up test centre in front of the administration building at the main location in Türkheim, a company vaccination campaign as well as the stringent implementation of the legal requirements were not enough for Salamander. In autumn, a vaccination competition was launched with the management with the aim of achieving a vaccination rate of at least 85% among employees. The Salamander Premium Solutions business division won and is happy to receive an additional Christmas bonus of 200 euros.

Salamander Industrie-Produkte GmbH with its business divisions Salamander Window & Door Systems, one of the leading European quality providers of energy-saving, design-oriented window and door systems, and Salamander Premium Solutions, the world market leader for sustainable quality leather fibre materials and vegan window material solutions, has already done a lot to ensure that its employees are as well protected as possible through the ongoing Corona pandemic. Thousands of tests have been carried out in the last few months in the test centre, which was built in the spring and provides free tests for all employees. But Salamander is not satisfied with that. In close cooperation with the Bad Wörishofen vaccination centre, all employees at Salamander have had the opportunity to be vaccinated with the Biontech vaccine since the end of June. This offer has been extended to booster vaccinations.

In order to counteract the announced fourth wave of infections in advance, the Salamander management came up with something very special this autumn: a vaccination competition. The following bet was made: if a vaccination rate of at least 85% is achieved, all fully vaccinated or recovered employees in Türkheim will receive a bonus of 200.00 euros. The Salamander Premium Solutions business division did it and successfully cleared this hurdle shortly before Christmas.
"It was very important for us to keep at it and to motivate our employees to take the fight against the pandemic into their own hands. Together with our works councillor Elfriede Mayer, HR manager Johannes Böck and our in-house company doctor Ursula Reich, we have reached another major milestone with the successful vaccination competition. We congratulate all those involved on their success and say thank you for standing together against Corona, summarises Co-CEO Götz Schmiedeknecht.
Teamwork, cohesion and sustainable, economic activity have been a top priority at Salamander, and not just since it became trendy in social and socio-political terms. Rather, these qualities have been part of Salamander's very own DNA since the company was founded. Building on this foundation, the Salamander Group is pursuing the doubling of its profitable turnover by 2030 as part of its "S500" strategy programme and is thus continuing to focus on growth and innovation. Qualified, motivated and committed employees, who actively shape Salamander's future with their knowledge and skills, make a significant contribution to its success. To ensure that this remains the case, Salamander will continue to invest in its team and the site in Türkheim.
